Each season has its own chapter and ends with a roll call of leading scorers, All-Conference picks, and senior players. Final CWCC standings for that year are also listed. Appendices detail the history of the CWCC, records against opponents, and all-time CHS individual TD statistics for rushing, passing, receiving, returns, and place-kicking.
All 261 Dons who ever scored a varsity point are listed.
About the Author
Mike Varney is a 1972 graduate of Marshfield Columbus High School. After obtaining a bachelor’s in Communication at UW-Stevens Point, he furthered his education with a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Varney retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel after 24 years of active duty.
Locating his 1992 recorded interviews with Coach Kroll sparked this book. He continues to hone his writing skills every year at the University of Iowa’s Summer Writing Festival.
